When you store your bags with Brrd, you are automatically covered by our Brrd Protected guarantee — at no extra cost. Your belongings are covered from the moment you drop them off to the moment you collect them. Brrd Protected applies to luggage storage in Brrd Nests; it does not cover short stays.

What Is Covered
- Theft from a verified Brrd storage location.
- Accidental damage while in a Brrd Nest.
- Loss due to fire, flooding, or other environmental damage at the storage location.
- Items mishandled by Brrd staff in breach of our storage guidelines.
What Is Not Covered
- Value above KES 50,000 per booking (we recommend personal insurance for high-value items).
- Prohibited items (see our Terms of Service).
- Normal wear and tear.
- Damage caused by improper packaging by the Guest.
- Items collected without a valid QR code check-out.
- Claims filed more than 72 hours after pick-up.
How to File a Claim
- Report the issue within 72 hours of collecting your items (or discovering the issue).
- Email claims@brrd.co.ke with your booking reference, a description of the loss or damage, and any supporting photos.
- A Brrd claims agent will acknowledge your claim within 24 hours and give you a decision within 3 business days.
- If approved, compensation is paid to your M-Pesa account within 3 business days of approval.
